Not really much to do with The Outsiders, (unless Sam swoops in with a fabulous answer...) but still pretty cool!

So we were kinda just messing around, and stuck a marker in a glass of water, and look what happened!

pretty cool...

I also just had a vision of the greasers using headbands to hold their hair back...like those stretchy ones...I don't know...

Outsiders paint

Sunset colors, anyone?

I'm BACK!

Hello!

Now, I have a few things to show you, and to tell you too!

Okay one thing to show you.

French Toast Casserole

Now this was no green pancakes breakfast, this was good stuff!!

And now, to tell you...

I actually finished watching Gone With the Wind, and it was AMAZING. Too many plot twists to count, but I won't spoil it :)

Other thing:
I went to see the movie The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (the new one) and they made an Outsiders reference! I won't spoil it, but Walter Mitty was talking to these people who weren't American (don't want to tell you who they were, that'll give some of it away!) and they were telling him to run and get this bike, and they were yelling things at him, and one of the guys yelled "Stay gold Ponyboy!" and I almost had a fit in the theater!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! It's been a great day! Now, there are a few things I'd like to show & tell you:

First of all, Merry Christmas again!

Second of all, I ate way too many Christmas cookies, but what are ya gonna do? I mean, it's Christmas people! It comes once a year, so enjoy it.

Third of all, yesterday I watched The Funniest movie ever. (The caps because I'm serious!!!) It was called Vacation, and it is so funny, I fell over laughing when I tried to explain something that happened. Let's just say it involves an ugly car, a family, and a bunch of obstacles. (Some of the language is kinda sketchy, so watch out)

Fourth of all, I ate an awesome breakfast today. It involved whipped cream, from a can. That is good stuff.

Fifth of all, I planted a Christmas tree! From this little kit, and who knows if it's actually gonna grow, but it's fun to think about growing a Christmas tree!

I saved the best for last, sixth of all, I got the most wonderful Christmas present I could imagine:

An Outsiders movie poster!
So now I can stare at something bigger than my DVD case.

Merry Christmas, again!

Also, I may not be able to post for the next few days, but I'll be back soon!

Popovers, greaser love, and yet another movie

The progression of the popovers

and now a candy cane to represent my love for the Outsiders

And last, I watched another movie, Some Kind of Wonderful. It wasn't my favorite I watched, but it wasn't horrible.

Correction:

I actually watched 4 movies yesterday...I also watched Footloose (the original version).

Many Movies & Christmas Cookies

Yesterday I watched 3 movies:
Frozen (nobody is too old for Disney movies)
WarGames
Ferris Bueller's Day Off

I HIGHLY recommend all of them. The last one is extremely funny, and the last two both star Matthew Broderick. And Frozen is just adorable.

As for the cookies...

Notice anything special about that green one?

I think my Christmas cookie decorating expertise is not as fine-tuned as my Outsiders expertise...

Merry Christmas Eve!!!

Almost, really almost, a new addition

Also at the pet store yesterday we saw the most adorable, tiny black cat, and for a split second, we almost got it. But then we were like "What are we thinking?!?!?!" If we did get it, I think I would have called him/her Rusty, after Rusty James. I also just think that's a cute name for a cat.

A Bearded Dragon Wrestling Match and More Movies

So, I went to the pet store and these two little bearded dragons were having a wrestling match!

Okay, so one of them jumped on the other one's back but whatever...it kind of reminded me of when Two-Bit was wrestling Ponyboy after he came back from Windrixville.

more movies:
I watched Back to the Future 3, and I'm finishing the Karate Kid...

Day 2 of Break

So far, my Sunday morning has been spent watching Back to the Future 2 and eating cereal. A pretty good way to start out the day. But get this! Back to the Future 1 and 2 were both made in the 80s, when The Outsiders movie was made, and in Back to the Future they go back to the 50s, which is when The Outsiders took place! Anyway, I highly recommend Back to the Future 1 and 2 (I haven't watched the 3rd one yet...I'll report back when I do), AND The Outsiders, of course. Christmas is in 3 days, and I'm just plain glad to be on break!

Bad news/good news

Bad news: I didn't post yesterday or the day before that, and I don't have such great stuff to post about today.

Good news: I am officially on break so I'll have more time to update, and Christmas is in 4 days!!!

What do I have to post about today?

this is a frog

a baby pitcher on my plant! And there's a big one right next to it, so what else but Johnny & Dallas?

it was a really nice day out on Wednesday...

An interesting day...

Although the majority of it was spent at school...

In my Chinese class, we watched The Karate Kid...'cause we finished our lesson yesterday and the teacher didn't want to start a new one right before break. We watched the new version though, but I apparently wasn't the only one who liked the original better! The entire rest of my class (17 other people) also said the original was better...the teacher even agreed but the new version has more Chinese references and such. But still, I can't complain about watching a movie in class...

Also, I made a visit to the pet store again to buy crickets for my gecko, and guess what else I saw...RUMBLE FISH!!! (you know, another book by S.E. Hinton? I haven't actually read it, but I will eventually...)

We named this one Rusty James, if you get what I'm going for.

(Rusty James is the main character in Rumble Fish...played by Matt Dillon in the movie by the way...which I haven't seen either...)

One last thing, I wanted to say thanks to all you sweet blog followers out there! Thanks for all your comments too, by the way. They mean a lot! So, if you have ever left a comment, or if you check my blog, give someone a high-five. Anyone. And if they ask why, say "for Johnny", and if they don't get it, tell them to read The Outsiders and get back to you when they do. And then tell them to have a fabulous day ;)

I hope you all have a fabulous day! I guess overall, in the scheme of things, I had a fabulous day, too. And happy early holidays too...I'll post a bunch more before than, anyway.

PS: To all of you who had/have midterms/semester tests/exams, good luck!!! :)

xoxo,
Your faithful blogger who always does it for Johnny

A Weekend of Math and Such

Title says all, really. I have a semester math test this Wednesday so I had this massive review...it took a long time, and a lot of patience ;)

And the 'and Such' part, well I basically did a lot of lounging around. It was a pretty lazy weekend. Maybe next weekend will be more energetic?

On a happy note, for all of you who celebrate it, Christmas is in 10 days!!! What would the Greaser gang do for Christmas?

To give you the idea that I had an exciting weekend, here are some really old pictures...

it's an APPLE PEAR! two greaser fruits combined into one!

This is a chameleon named Creepy

Uh, a flower I saw at the beach last summer...

Some yogurt I ate once in California..

And a picture of Thomas Jefferson. He's been on my mind...I have to do a HUGE project on him...

Dessert (or breakfast) before and after...

cake before...

cake after...

At this point, I think I'd like to go on the chocolate cake tour of the world, or at least my hometown.

You know you're obsessed when...

Well somebody did there presentation (dramatic interpretation) of The Outsiders (That is MY book) and they did the scene starting when Dallas says "We won," to Johnny at the hospital, and did to the end of the chapter and I could tell you everything he missed. I don't know if he meant to skip things (We were allowed to cut material) but he ruined such an important scene!!! I'm doing my presentation tomorrow. I'll keep y'all posted! Until then, here is one of my favorite pictures:

It's perfect!

Pears...

I didn't take a picture of it, but I ate a pear today, and you know who's fruit is a pear? Guess.

Have you guessed yet?

How about now?

Now?

Well if you haven't guessed, it is none other than Sodapop Curtis, middle Curtis brother extraordinaire.

This is actually the picture Sam made for his birthday, but why waste an amazing picture?

Now I'm starting to question why I titled this post Pears...whatever...see you tomorrow :)

Peace
Love
Dallas Winston!
