Happy Halloween Y'all!

No, I don't actually have a Southern accent but I wish I did, because people with accents are AWESOME! So if you have an accent, thumbs up! Anyway... Who wants to guess what I'm dressing up as???

Flannel shirt...

Jeans...

Converse...

Currently I'm walking around without shoes on...

In my socks...

Have you guessed yet? I'm dressed up as Sodapop...It seemed like the best bet so it would make sense to people who haven't discovered the wonderful world of the Outsiders.

By the way... I wore my special Halloween socks to school today, with high tops of course:

Strawberry Love

These strawberries represent my love for the greasers

This is for you, Sam!

Okay, Sam, this is a challenge from me to you. Can you relate my mini cactus jungle to The Outsiders? Can anyone else out there? I certainly can't... I'm stumped...

unless...
no...
wait...
no. I've got nothing.

Another occupation

In addition to watching movies and doing my homework, I've been knitting!

It's quite entertaining.

Movie Weekend...

I've been feeling a tad bit under the weather this weekend... I've spent it sitting on the couch writing science notes (I'm always having a problem with science, aren't I?) and watching movies. So far I watched this movie called Forever Together/Can't Be Heaven (yes, it's called two different things) and it was really good. If you ever get a chance to watch it, you should. It's from 2000 and has Ralph Macchio in it... I also watched The Outsiders... Big surprise. If you've ever watched it, did you notice that in the most dreaded scene it says JOHNNY on the payphone?

Oh, and you can't watch movies without popcorn

Glitterfied Greasers

I was using glitter for a birthday present, then a friend and I were bored, so we used the glitter that was falling absolutely EVERYWHERE (and is still in my room today. I keep finding it) and we put it on the Greaser boys!

Tuff, huh?

Milk

Yes, I did an experiment with milk today. It was something about surface tension, but that's not why you guys are here right? You want interesting stuff, not gab about surface tension.

And today, I know why this has to do with the Outsiders! Ponyboy and Soda (and the rest of the gang, pretty much) love chocolate milk! (I know, this is regular milk. I try, guys, I try.)

An absence of things for me to post about...

*see title* I thought my 4 posts from Sunday would hold you guys over until now? Anyway, I guess you could say I'm feeling a bit like Ponyboy trying to write that theme... Out of ideas. But that means that soon I'll be struck with some grand idea! I hope...

IT'S ALIVE!

I think my papaya plant may be making a comeback!

Yeah unless Sam can think of how this is relevant (VOCAB WORD!) to the Outsiders... then it's irrelevant. Did that make sense?

Re-lacing...

I had to re-lace my Converse because while I was at school I unlaced one, and then I re-laced it wrong. Oops. You'd never believe how long a single shoelace is!

Goldfish- has to do with the Outsiders why?

I don't know... Johnny just kind of reminds me of a goldfish... in a good way...

A bit of deliciousness...

Chocolate cake. And what goes better than that with ice cream? (If you're Soda, you might say "Scrambled eggs and grape jelly!")

Okay, it's red velvet cake, but whatever. Close enough.

More ice cream

And a stingray shaped pancake

Cherry has a car called a Stingray!

Nothing Gold Can Stay...

I can't believe I never posted the poem! Here it is:

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Strawberry Day

So yesterday was a peachy day, today has been a strawberry day. Not only did I eat strawberries for breakfast, but Dallas Winston is a troubled strawberry!

{It's by the same person that the peachy one was by)

And I think I've been a bit of a troubled strawberry today... Let's just say I had an issue with my science homework... But anyway I figured it out, so today's mini lesson is: Don't over think things. You'll create a problem that wasn't there in the first place.

Here were my strawberries. They were probably a bit troubled as well as they were quite sour.

Peachy Keen about the Outsiders

Today I am peachy keen on the Outsiders... Here's why

I ate two (keyword being two) peaches today...yummy

I found this totally awesome drawing of Ponyboy with peaches!!!

{it's by someone named MangoBearPenguin, and that's a username, not a real name...}

Typical Tuesday

Yep, just a typical Tuesday. Nothing special... but here's a sunset:

I'd also like to mention that I had a dream last night where I was eating pizza with Steve and he was complaining and being typical Steve. That's all.

A wise note

As an Outsiders-wise friend of mine once said *cough cough Samantha* "trying to be positive here {Sodapop}"

"And he understands everybody."

Personally I think this is Soda's most admirable trait.

What do quotes have to do with the Outsiders?

Well, I have an Outsiders quote up...

I'm never nice.
      Dallas Winston

Quotes

I updated my quote window...

Too early to start thinking about summer???

I've already started my 2014 Summer Bucket List... Yeah, in October. Here's a sneak peek of it:

* Learn to fishtail braid my own hair
* Spend a whole day photographing
* Make a chalk mural
* Make ice cream
* Learn to use chopsticks
* Take underwater pictures
* Finish a whole tube of chapstick
* Learn to juggle
* Eat cake without using my hands

Excited for Summer 2014 yet?

Rocking...

A combination I just made up that's a mix of walking and rocks. I know, rocking is already a word but I gave it a new definition. See, I walked around my block and kicked this rock almost all the way around:

I've got my 'stay gold' shoes on, so that has to do with the Outsiders, and Ponyboy bounced a ball around town in the beginning of the movie, so there's that...

Roses...

The journey of a rose on the bush...

Whoever can figure out what roses have to do with the Outsiders gets a virtual blondie... I'm stumped on this one!

Moment of Truth...

The first batch of blondies is finished...Finally. When they came out of the pan it was a bit of an epic fail, but I think I managed to salvage it. Here's what they looked like while they were still in the pan:

By the way... this relates to the Outsiders because they always have chocolate cake, and these are almost like a cake...

Baking day, at last!

A LONG time ago I said I was gonna bake bread... So that never happened. But today, I'm baking blondies! They are currently baking, and I'm waiting patiently (trying to be, anyway). So stay tuned and I'll posted pictures!

Steve is a pineapple and flying calculators and pandas

Interesting title? Thought so. So we all know Steve is a pineapple (his fruit of the month) , and when I saw one at the store, I had to take a picture!

About the flying calculators and pandas...
The other day, I was just sitting in math class, and then all of the sudden, a rubber calculator came flying by! No one claimed it, and I couldn't tell who threw it... Later that day I was in Chinese class and a panda (stuffed animal) came flying by! How funny is that? Twice in one day...

Tex and a burnt note

So I know this is an Outsiders blog, but I wanted to tell you guys about the second best book I've ever read. It's called Tex, also by S.E. Hinton. It was super good, not as violent as the Outsiders, but I think anyone who liked the Outsiders should try Tex. They also made a movie out of it, which I haven't seen yet, but I want to really soon! I'll have to tell you about it when I see it, but I don't wanna spoil it! I'll have to get a picture of it later... I read it on my Kindle.

Here's a burnt sticky note. Do not leave these on stove tops! THEY BURN! It's a cool pattern, but DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME, CHILDREN!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SODA!!!!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SODA!

Samantha made this for the blog... Thanks again, Sam! Just in case any of you are wondering, the other arm in the bottom right is Steve's... ah, best friends... gotta love 'em.  Anyone do anything special for today? In other words, are you as crazy as an Outsiders fan as I am?

Soda's Birthday Eve...

So, are you as excited as I am? Soda's birthday is tomorrow! He'll always be 16 going on 17 to me though, even on his birthday! Even though I wish we could all skip school and eat cake for breakfast and play cards and hang out at a DX, I've still got to go to school. Bleh. Anywho, (I love saying that!) if you have something hard to do tomorrow, DO IT FOR SODAPOP!!! Make him proud of you! Be happy tomorrow! Take everything as it comes and don't question whether it's fair or not. JUST BE HAPPY! Have fun with your Steve (aka best friend) and ENJOY LIFE!!! :)

Expect a super happy birthday post tomorrow for Soda! Until then, stay gold my lovelies, stay gold.

Disaster!

Disaster has struck my front yard... (cue suspenseful music)

What happened to my papaya plant???

This one is fine!!!

I AM SO CONFUSED!!! WHAT DID I DO WRONG??? (cue dramatic music)

Crème brûlée

Yay I got the accents and rooftops (oops, that's not what the thing over the 'u' is called but that's what I call them)!! I had to copy and paste it off of Google because my computer is mean and wouldn't put them on for me. So anyway, the point of this is that I made Crème brûlée (oops again... Don't know why that got so big!) on Friday. It was at night, so I didn't have time to post again. Anyway... it was fabulous! And what it has to do with The Outsiders? I don't know... I felt kind of like a Greaser holding that blowtorch... Don't know why... Just did. :) Also, I figured out what that heart-shaped potato chip has to do with The Outsiders.... I <3 The Outsiders! Simple... Why didn't I think of that yesterday? Is the spacing messed up here?

Enough chatting...

Friday, October 4, 2013

Again, nothing to do with the Outsiders but I couldn't resist!

Sam, I need your Outsiders smarts! What does a heat-shaped potato chip have to do with the Outsiders?

Throwback Thursday

It's Throwback Thursday, y'all!

Double throwback... to those sideways pictures that were AGES ago, and PASHKA! I made a list of the "Infamous" things in my life, and they are Pashka and Dallas Winston!!

Good Fortune...

I guess you could say The Outsiders makes my life more interesting... this blog makes my life more interesting...

The Outsiders FRUIT BIRTHDAYS!!!

Two of my biggest loves in life, The Outsiders and fruit are combined to make one epic blog post! (Too commercial-y?)

So I got this Harry & David catalog with this fruit of the month club thingy, and it had a fruit for every month, so of course I had to go ahead and apply it to the Outsiders!!!

Ponyboy: Cherries (I found it very ironic that Cherry was not a cherry.)
Johnny: Oranges
Dallas: Apples
Soda: Pears
Steve: Pineapples (this one made me laugh so hard. maybe it's the fact that it's Steve, matched up with a pineapple???)
Cherry: Oranges
Two-Bit: Apricots
Darry: Grapefruits

I included Cherry (I like her) but NO OTHER SOCS!!!

And if you're as crazy about fruit as I am, feel free to match your birthday month with one of these fruits:

January: Grapefruits
February: Plums
March: Oranges
April: Pineapples
May: Papayas (yuck I don't like papayas)
June: Apricots
July: Cherries
August: Kiwis
September: Peaches
October: Pears
November: Apples
December: Pears (again)

Oh, and here's another sunrise:
